Day 2 PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT-READING

So I was having a discussion with someone on certain organizations that encourage abortion for profit. I told him how these companies encourage ladies to commit abortions by carrying it out for them for free. They then use the fluid from the spinal cord of the fetus to sell to and treat people (the very wealthy who can afford it)  with terminal diseases such as Huntington and Alzheimers... By the time we finished the discussion, I had to go through another ordeal of convincing him I was not a medical personel.

How did I hear of such? Well, I read a novel inspired by a research,  which in turn inspired me  to write an article that fetched me some cool cash... effortlessly I should say. And that's how I am also able to give you this information for free... (you can thank me later).

But really, there's something exciting about a person that knows a little about everything. As a single lady that year, I knew how I tripped for guys that could engage me in intellectual discourses for hours nonstop, being able to throw and receive intellectual darts here and there, moving from one topic to the other rather effortlessly. When it was time to settle down, intellectual content topped the list and was a deal breaker for me... that's why it had to be boo.😜

And in most cases the feeling is mutual.  Guys also like ladies who are well informed. Someone complained to me about the caliber of girls he had been dating. He called them the "Anything goes type". He takes them to a restaurant and asks what they want and they say "anything is fine"... Same answer for type of movie, car, dream city, ambition... The list is endless. It's no wonder he talks about them in the past. Lol.
This (your single life) is the best time to identify the skills you need to set life goals which can enhance your employability skills, raise your confidence and lead to a more fulfilling, higher quality life. Be conscious about making relevant, positive and effective life choices and decisions for your future to enable personal growth and development.

One practical way of developing your self is by reading books. My oh my, I can neither over emphasize nor underestimate the benefits of reading books. The wealth of  knowledge in books can change your life forever. A person who reads is never on the same level with his/her peers. If you know a person who reads a lot, you'll realize they talk better, write smarter, and never run out of vocabulary (evidence of a healthy vocabulary bank). You hardly catch them hitting their laps for lack of appropriate words to express themselves. Haha. And yes they are really smart. Interestingly, I am talking to myself too... I resolved to read a book every month, but somehow I am still stuck with January book in March. Errmm... Don't judge me biko, it happens... but really that's not good enough.

Personal development is a life long thing. You don't ever arrive. The world is constantly evolving and in order not to be redundant and lose your relevance, you must develop with it. On that note, I don't normally do this but please guys, see the movie "Hidden Figures"  if you haven't. It will best sink this message.

Other benefits include (but are not limited to)  mental stimulation, stress  reduction, tranquility, sharpened memory, enhanced analytical skills,  and of course free entertainment... to mention a few. All of these you need throughout life to succeed. This is a call to develop a reading culture /consciousness. You never know where such information gotten from reading will take you.  You know what they say "The best time to climb an elephant is when it is down... So when it's up, you're already on top"... Success is always achieved when opportunity meets preparation... How prepared are you to succeed?
